  2. The Boxed bet – in this kind of bet, you are betting at all the possible combinations. You are betting for a multiple horse wager which includes the trifecta or the exacta.
  3. Trifecta – of course you’ll be wondering what the two terms were from the boxed bet. Trifecta is a kind of bet where you get to choose three horses that will finish first to third place in the exact order.
  4. Exacta – this is another kind of bet where in you’ll only need to choose two horses that will finish first to second place in the exact order.
  5. In the money – when you hear this term, it means that it’s finishing as number one, placing second, or showing up third.
  6. Lock – if you hear this term from the bettors, this means that it’s a sure winner.
  7. Parlay – you may parlay when you want to place a bet on the next game by using your winnings from the previous bet.
  8. Win, Place, and Show – in the world of horse racing or horse race betting, the horse that crosses the finish line first is called a win, the second is called a place, and the third is called a show.
